Founded in 1985, the Payot Pty Ltd (now Luxury Cosmetics) under the ownership of Marcelle Feenstra, launched Decleor and Smashbox in South Africa and grew the brands to their current position. Smashbox was bought internationally ,LC kept it for 2 years after the Estee Lauder Purchase Internationally. Payot (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd was initially a subsidiary of Prestige Cosmetics, created to distribute the Payot brand in South Africa.
The company was awarded the distribution rights for Payot, Decleor and Carita in 2000. In 2007, Marcelle Feenstra became the sole shareholder and the company’s name change was changed to “Luxury Cosmetics”.
The company subsequently launched the Smashbox make-up brand, Maria Galland and more recently, the Comfort Zone, Skin Regimen, Stila and fragrance brands.

We currently distribute the Comfort Zone, Skin regimen, Decleor, Stila and Maria Galland, and we recently added fragrances to our portfolio,as we are always looking to expand our brands where selective distribution and professionalism are key to the success.

Marcelle is now the owner and CEO of the Luxury Cosmetics, she has recently appointed Bonota Fredericks as a Partner. Having commenced her skincare career with Dior she was head-hunted by Prestige Cosmetics. She became a Director and co-owner of the Prestige Cosmetics Group Pty Ltd in South Africa. Marcelle has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry and with her professional training in skincare and vast experience of the cosmetics industry in South Africa, has provided the marketing knowledge and sales drive to secure continued growth for all our brands.
Achievements: in her previous capacity as Director and shareholder of the Prestige Cosmetics Group, Marcelle was instrumental in the launching, successful establishment and growth of Chanel Cosmetics, Christian Dior, Payot skin care, Bulgari Fragrances and Hermes Fragrances in South Africa. These brands are very successful and still have wide recognition in the country.
In her current role as owner and CEO of Luxury Cosmetics she was also the driving force behind the launch of the Decleor, Smashbox, Maria Galland, Carita, Yves Rocher and Stila brands and subsequently the fragrance portfolio.
Financial Director – B.Sc Eng, MBA
Pieter is a Civil Engineer who also holds a MBA degree. As a successful businessman with an impeccable track record, he brings a solid financial and business focus to the business, having implemented a strong operational model, business infrastructure, operational processes, logistics and financial controls for the company to drive sales growth and maximize the benefit of marketing expenditure.
Director & Partner
Bonita is our Director has been with Luxury Cosmetics for 9 years and has now become a Partner of the company. She has an enormous amount of versatility in skills. She has been a huge driving force behind enforcing business strategies, compliance and developing company objectives linked to keeping the business running smoothly and ensuring that productivity remains high. She is a great asset to LC.
